Food Fridays…

Also known as the inability to button the top part of my jeans. Oh the shame!!

Tandoori Kona

Veg samosa / hot and spicy wings

Alu gobi (my fav) / butter chicken (AMAZING) – Leave it to Richmond, home of the chinese, to have one of my new fav Indian spots. Very small restaurant but it was packed with all sorts of people. Black, white, purple, blue..and brown. You know its a tight joint when even their own kind dines there.

Chicken salad at Absolute Spa

Ok so  this photo is maybe more than you bargained for (there’s a semi dressed man facing you) but it goes to show you i eat healthy sometimes too.

Earl’s

I love cali. I love mexican food. I love cali’s mexican food. But since a fish taco isn’t a pedro away, i make due with whats available. Fish tacos at earls were really good, and their Bronx burger was pretty fuckin’ legit and i’m not even a burger person. And as if you didn’t already know, but we be killin’ it!

Mid day poutine at work..

What? I was hungry and had every intention to share this.

Cattle Hot Pot

‘Tis almost the season for cold late nights of hot pot grubbin. But like a true athlete, i practise it all year. Love the variety at Cattle, their corn is the bombest, their fish noodles are the chewiest and the fish skins reign supreme. Oh and do you see that fried bread goodness with condensed milk on it? Yup, that totally happened.

Sushi Bella

Volaco pizza / udon / Caterpillar roll (avoc, cream cheese, unagi)

Breakfast bagel from Beans Coffee and Tea House

It was a bit too healthy tasting for my liking but the gooey cheese was bomb dot com.

Cupcakes

My first nutella cupcake. Can I get an amen? AMEN. Very delicious, esp when washed down with some choco milk.

Doob’s homemade goodness:

Freshly baked tortillas with bomb  ass salsa / corn and bean salad with lemon dressing. HOLY HORHAY.

Ramen Sanpachi

The walk to Kintaro seemed like a journey so we tried this newer spot. And thank  goodness we did, it was so friggin good! I got the spicy BUTTER ramen. Thats right folks, that is a brick of butter in my soup. Very tasty like your mom.

Joey’s for Jenn’s goodbye dinner :(

Goodbyes are hard. Our lovely Jenn is now in London spending the next 3 years studying to be a lawyer. I’m so incredibly proud of her and now I officially have a place to squat when i visit!

lobster ravioli / prawn linguini

belini with extra frozen peaches / yam fries

calamari / apple pie / chocolate lava cake

fried mashed potato roll

I also had to say goodbye to my baby cousin who is now in  Toronto awaiting for the school year to start, University of Toronto ain’t no joke. So proud of my baby!

Goodbye Jenn and Lily!

Saying farewell (or see you later) to friends and family is really hard. First it was Cheebz, my relatives, and now 2 more have left my little bubble… maybe that eggsplains all the emotional eating!? Who are we kidding, i’m just an eater period. Hope you enjoyed Veeezy’s eats this week, happy Friday eating my loves!!!

I’m so full..

Sometimes I eat my feelings…and other times I’m just hungry.

Gold medal for Veeezy at the Eating Olympics!!!

Hapa Izakaya hot stone rice bowl

Santouka Ramen spicy cha siu

Tableau Scallop and raviolo

Sushi Town feast

Boston Pizza Spicy perogie pizza x Baja salad

Fatty Cow hot pot

Phnom Penh noodles x beef on rice

Italian Kitchen pasta platter and anti-pasto misto.

And these are only the meals i remembered to take photos of. Eating to me is happiness. I can’t recall a single happy memory that didn’t involve food. Bad day? Let’s go eat. Good day? let’s go eat? Monday? Hey, let’s go eat. If you love me, you’ll feed me. With that being said, I think I need to slow down a bit though, my dresses haven’t been zipping up as swiftly as I’d like..

Good morning, gorgeous!

Okay i started the post at 9am but am just gettin around to writing it now (Happy afternoon!). I really feel like the walls of time are closing in on me. There’s barely any time to scratch my butt let alone have a heart to heart with you telling you all the joyous mischevious things I got into this weekend.. I dont even know where to begin. So when in doubt, you can make love to my food photos.

Mars’ late night pre-birthday rendezvous at Sushiyama (10 hearts out of 10)

Whats better than an impromptu late night sake session with 3 of your bestest friends? nothing, really. And of course stop #2 of the night, dessert and drinksies at our usual spot – Martini’s!

There’s nothing I love more than spending time with those worthy of it. Happy buurday, boo!

Peking Duck at Golden Phoenix (8 angry chinese drivers out of 13 drivers)

mmm peking duck. This no meat thing isnt as hard as i thought it’d be lol. I’ll let you know once i actually stick to it.

Chewie’s (4 hip thrusts out of 7)

I’d like to think that I’m a fried chicken ambassador so when Ray said this joint had it, it was on like donkey kong. We had some oysters too which were good but the chicken was blah. Funny enough the waffles were the best part of the dish. Not coming back, but with my horrible memory i’ll be there this weekend telling you the same story the following Monday.

Dim Sum at Happy Valley with my little cousins (5 melty kisses out of 5)

I’ve trained my little ones well. We were gettin it in like crazy! Ate as though it were our last meal. love it!

Xu’s Wonton (4 fist pumps out of 6)

Ray took me here to educate me on XLB aka xiu long bao, aka the soup dumpling that will burn the fuck out of your mouth if you’re not careful. It was my first time eating it properly, bite the  top off, suck the soup, (add vinegar to opening) and slam the dumpling. Only managed to fuck up twice! yay. The soup was a bit too buttery/fatty for me.

Mexican night for Mars’ birthday DAY! (100 warm hugs and kisses out of 100 rainbows and butterflies)

Love mexican food, love my girls for lovin it too. Guac, bbq chicken, bombass terra chips (so eggspensive that we’re saivng the rest for when the pope visits) and dip for days. Btw, I did that soy vanilla ice cream thing… I dont fuck with low fat stuff. First and last time ever! But the rice pudding, strawberries and apple crumble were bomb dot com.

Fatty Cow Hot Pot, my second dinner after already eating at home. (5 mango puddings out of 5)

I swear I have a separate stomach for hot pot. Ray pointed out hot pot season is almost over since its getting warm out, to which i responded with “shut up!”

Home BBQ with my little cousins (50 angel fairies out of 10, they’re the bombest kids..above and beyond)

Oh right, so yeah I’m going to Vegas in a month  and I’m on this super strict no food diet. Can you tell? lol.

Okay enough of me and what I put into my mouth this week, what did you put in yours? something delicious I hope! Ice cream perhaps? some vodka soda? teehee. Anyways this took me all day to write but I can’t wait to update you on what I’ve been up to the past few. Food, honeydrippin, dancing, making new friends, music, partying, kisses.. ah, come back tomorrow..we can chit chat then k? mmmmmuah! xo.

Happy Flyday Friday papi chulos!

Good morning stunner face!!! What a busy week it’s been.. I don’t know about you but back when I was in elementary  school, weeklong Spring break felt like forevvvvar. Now between a fart and a sleep the week has passed us by, so surreal. I hope you’ve had a good week, did it include some cuddling? Eating? Hair fondling? I sure fucking hope so!

I thought I’d do a different post today and write some good feelin’ go on with yo bad self type of shit. Get on that Flyday Friday tip…

GAP colored denim (lavender is out of stock, but other colors here) / Polo by Ralph Lauren rainboots (buy here)

So Monday was a good day, snacks on snacks on snacks with the ladies as previously mentioned. Tuesday was another banger, awesome day working on some biz plans for some hot shizzz i can’t share with you just yet! Then on Wednesday i wrote the 15 dresses for under $50 article and of course I was on that square neck dress from Dorothy Perkins but mid way through my checkout that bitch of a dress became out of stock. Like the fuck, suuun!? Isn’t it rightfully in my shopping cart?  that’s like someone yoinking a cabbage head out of my grocery bag. not cool, bro. Of course since I couldn’t get it anymore my desire for this dress grew like mad cow disease! But with effort and work, comes fruit so after a few head pounds to the keyboard, i found my dress on a different site! Wrong size but i bought it anyways, just gotta lose a limb in the next 10 days to fit it.

OK hold up wait a minute. So I just clicked on the link and they had THE DRESS AVAILABLE in MY size! I just bought the LAST one and now its forever out of stock. Holy shit what kind of mental shopping mind fuck was that? lol. Okay so now I have 2 of the dresses being shipped to my home.. yay. Someone is getting that dress for their birthday haha. Only stuff like this happens to me! I’m a firm believer in positive energy and visualizing your goals!

Also on Wednesday, I received a text message from a random number with “Vicky?” Responding to those are always the most fun because how often do you get to play games as an adult? (and not those adult mind fucks, that’s not the same). Of course I replied back with something witty, I can’t remember what but it turned out to be a friend from when I used to work at Banana Republic… 6 years ago! Can you buhleee dat? Mind you I haven’t changed my cell number since I was 14 but it was still such a great surprise!

This is @Michelle.

…and the shoes i almost ripped off her feet. Aldo’s Preen rise collection, get familiar suuun.

Isn’t she adorable? So it turns out she found me while doing some online fashion writing research, she went through her phone list and voila, I was still there. She called to invite me to an event held at HousexGuest for Tara Parker Tait PR, Clambake Cottilion. Still no idea what it means but it was full of industry folks (not sure which kind, the pretty hob knob kind), had an open bar and loads of yummy food. Needless to say, we caught up while stuffing our faces.

And if you’re wondering why she hit me up, turns out Michelle is a contributing editor for Flare.. um, how amazeballs is that!?! That’s what I’d like to do one day, and to see someone I know doing it is so inspiring. I didn’t hesitate at all to meet up with Michelle (I said yes 2 texts in lol), she was always super sweet to me when we worked together and I could never forget a great smile. Btw, i tweeted it.. you read it huh??

Honestly, I could’ve easily bailed since it could’ve been awkward but I didn’t because life is too random not to catch up with good people, from the past or the present. Life is made up of the relationships and eggsperiences we create, and I’m always down for connecting with positive folks! Michelle is a perfect example of someone leaving a lasting impression on me, and I’m so glad she thought of me as well.  We caught up for a little while then it was off to dinner with my baNANA fams for some og hot pot.

Great night, great company, great times.

Thursday was a hectic day as i had to go get my passport for my traveling this weekend. And of course I left it last minute, shake my cot dayum fat head. I literally had 30 minutes from the time I got off work to get to the passport office. While I was driving I started stressing and cussin under my breath, just straight up fuckin with myself. But I reminded myself “whats the point?” Stressin myself while sitting in traffic doesnt help the cause, so why not let go of the things i cannot change? With my eased mind and the help of the traffic gods I made it to the office, found prime parking and picked up my passport with 2 minutes to spare. The security guard literally locked the door after I got in… i made it, just on time! Again, good vibes never hurt a situation. Then it was on to my fam dins.

Sushi, curry, thai dessert, salad rolls, papaya salad, sweet and sour soup, jap chae and the list goes on. Trust me, you’d want to get it in at my fam dinners.

It was so nice to catch up with my little cousins, some are finishing their exams for the semester, and some are getting their driving licenses.. it totally brings a smile to my face just thinking about it. Fuck these kids grow up too fast. I love them to pieces.

After dinner 1, i was off to my second dinner. I went to see a friend of my sister’s (Cheebz) from San Jose and his buddy (I’ve never even met them before). Talk about random, but as always i never turn down the opportunity to meet nice people. Christine ended up joining us so we pretty much got our Guu on and had a dope ass time! Felt like old friends catching up.

I can’t say it enough, there are so many awesome people in this world.. you really owe it to yourself to surround yourself with good people, and even better experiences. This whole week was a true testament to that. If you enter everyday with a mediocre mindset, your day will not reach above that status. Sometimes i catch myself being a total cunt so its always a work in progress for me. Anyways I meant to spread the love, and not put you to sleep with all this writing!

I’m away this weekend so I hope you have a fantastic weekend. But please do me a favor… MISS me lots, because I’ll be missing you like crackhead cray!

One more photo to keep your hearts fluttering this weekend..

What I wore to the HG x PR event. And yes, I’m totaly 5 months pregnant in the first photo. I’m having a baby giraffe lol.  Forever21 jumper (similar here) / Furcoat from Macy’s (BIG SALE similar here) / my mom’s wicked genes

Ending this post with wise words from Mr. Ferris Bueller: Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I couldn’t haven’t said it better myself. I love you. Ok, bye.

Find me here and here.

We in this bitch like an unborn baby!

Sorry, i’ve been saying that quite a lot lately and I really can’t figure out why. Every time I enter a room I feel like shouting that, too bad by mom doesnt find it as amusing..

Happy Tuesday boo face!! Hope you guys had a great weekend and a lovely Monday. I wanted to post all day yesterday but i just got caught up handlin biz nawaaamean? I say we do a quick week/end recap? whatchu say?

After a wack load of folks sent me photos of their meals at Phnom Penh I had no choice but to go myself and murk the shit outta that place! I was seriously eggcited the whole day. It’s been forever and a minute..

And it felt like I never left. So delicious.. mmm. Just thinking about it now makes my hips sway a little bit. oh haaaaaai.

The next day was a playoff game day so we got it in at St. Augustine’s and tried their beer sampler paddle things, i highly suggest it if you’re bi-polar and can’t pick just 1 flavor (like me).

I was honestly super eggcited for the playoffs bc last year we had a ball day time drinking, leaving work early to get good seats and just being total fans. Sadly however, are are no longer seeking Stanley at this current time (sad face). But we did do it up the few games we got to watch.

Of course we went to Thierry after the Canucks won their one and only game. Eating feelings is something i’m great at.

I can’t remember what I did Thursday to be completely honest but i mos def remember what went down Friday night… Aki and R3HAB!

To say I had fun would be a big understatement, I had the TOML! (Time of my life, and probably yours too). It was everything I could ask for on a Friday night. I love life!

I know, I know..I’m obsessed with these pants!

Aki / SindyBindy / Nana and Ed / Tickets to Never Never Land.

Nana and I … faded, faded, faded.

I’m not a huge party girl (contrary to what my site says) but when I do get to go out, I can’t say how lucky I am to always have such a great time. It’s really the people you roll with and your mental state. I guess a bit of gin and juice dont hurt either hehe. Aki was killin it, had the whole dance floor gettin crazy and then R3HAB got on and shit just got ba-na-nas.

It’s one thing to go to a night club and sway the odd hip thrust huur and thuur, and it’s another thing to down a dozen vodka red bulls, throw caution to the wind and do a proper electric city dance-a-thon. It was def one of those nights, love it!

This was me the next day… tryin to honey drip but with no liquid courage left lol. Paying for it the next day is fine by me! I’d say my body was in wheel chair qualified type of state!! I was just really tired and sleepy. But thank goodness for hot pot, that shit always comes to the rescue! Finally rolled out of bed at 5pm like a pro and made my way to fam dinneroo.

I swear the Le’s always do it up! So thankful I get to be a part of it. Blessed.

Dinner went until late and I didn’t feel like going HAM again so I left and went for a late night romantic dog stroll. The next morning was Sunday which meant kickin it with my OGs. I swear my g-pops is a dope ass dresser.

Got his polo gear on, old man cap fitted and of course his wedding band. They still wear it after all these years. Tres cute! Did some fruit shopping, pension stealing (kidding!) and then made my way home to get it on at the range!

This was only my 2nd time and I’m going to commit myelf this year to hittin the green more often. Fo rills! It was hard, but a lot of fun. Def a game of patience. Thanks Ray for being such a great teacher! Still a bit sore but so worth it. Overall a solid weekend, tiring but a lot of fun! What did you do? Break any hearts?

Yesterday  was Monday and i kind of dread Mondays after a big weekend but I came into work late and found these!

As much as I don’t think flowers are worth the money, I love getting them. What girl doesnt? Got home from work, passed the eff out, and when I woke up to meet the girls for food and sake, I stepped out to this:

Such a glorious evening, are we not the luckiest folks alive? cot dayum  gina!

Anyways thats veeezylife in a nutshell! Picture heavy, food heavy, and love heavy. If you’re gon do it, do it right. Hope you guys had a great weekend and that your week is looking absolutely spectacular so far. Before you leave, i wanted to tell you about this beautiful family i saw while waiting at the passport office. Super cute kids, hot mom and a laidback steezin’ dad. I was staring at them the whole time and knew I had to tell them they were a beautiful little family, even if they probably hear it all the time.

But i had so much trouble finding the nerve to go over and tell them. Obviously I’d have no issue in sending text msgs and telling everyone how cool this couple in front of me was but for the people who deserved to hear it most (them), i was scared to tell them. Nervous to tell strangers a compliment! My number got called and a few mins later from behind i saw them leaving and i knew i had to say something. I ran across the office yelling for them like a total swim fan and told them how beautiful their family was. Even if I sounded like a total dork I’m so glad I said something, or i wouldve kicked myself all day.

Kindness makes the world a better place. Why are we so quick to throw up threatening gang signs in the car when the person in front cuts us off, but we hestitate to say something nice to the stranger that walks past us? I really am going to try my best to smile more, greet those I see, and just spread the love!! Positivity is easier to spread if we all start on the right path every morning. Lets do it together!

And speaking of spreading the love, head over to Vancitybuzz to read my latest article

I’ve been getting some flack for this, to which i reply with…aye haters!! waddap!!

Anyways I’m really late for my meeting now and as much as you’re worth getting in trouble for.. mami needs a job to pay the bills. You can always find me here, and here. Talk later okay? *kisses from your favorite Vancity mrs.! Ciao, babycakes xoxo.
